The aim of this study was to evaluate central line associated bloodstream infections over a 6-year period in a single community-based hospital by: (1) comparing central line associated bloodstream infection rates across an 8-hospital health care system; (2) identifying differing practices across the hospital system; and (3) implementing best prevention practice interventions to decrease infection rates.
